On the site of a former barn in Connecticut, the Sharon Carriage House offers new opportunities for an active family with 4 kids by creating a home centered around indoor and outdoor recreation.  Half of the residence is dedicated to sports storage and multi-use recreation spaces. With ski slopes in the nearby town, this house also serves as storage for ski gear, snow mobiles and all terrain vehicles. The other half of the house has a compact self-contained 2 bedroom accommodation on the level above and two separate office space and studio on the level below.  The Connecticut residence is clad in Shou Sugi Ban siding, a high-performance metal roof, and local stone.   The award-winning residence received the 2022 Design Excellence Award from the AIA Connecticut.
