URBAN CATALOG

This is a catalog of our urban observations — a platform to share what we distill from the city that instigates our re-thinking in design. We are interested in overlaps in the city, unique urban behaviour – questioning how people negotiate space and create boundaries, live-work situations and spaces for play. (drawings by aya, buzz and sandra)01_New York City sketch 01

Transit Wireless Wifi in select subway stations are letting New Yorkers redefine the residual spaces of the city allowing commuters to co-opt public space for one’s productive use. Connectivity is not only the means by which a New Yorker can work at any time, but also the impetus for one to suddenly take residence and claim space in a middle of a subway tunnel.
